Four Minutes explores the intense relationship between a stern, repressed piano teacher and the violent young inmate she teaches at a women's prison.
Eighty-year-old Traude Krüger has been teaching keyboards in the same women's prison since the Second World War. When she hears new inmate Jenny, a violent loner, playing the piano, she recognises her musical abilities and agrees to train her up for a competition. Winner of the Film Award in Gold for Outstanding Feature Film at the 2007 German Film Awards. In German with English subtitles.
