Trinity Youth Theatre welcomes children and young people (ages 5-19) to take part in a variety of creative workshops and perform in plays.

Drama Workshops

We host weekly workshops on Trinity’s stage, ranging from storytelling to script work, improvisation to puppetry.

In our younger groups, Apollo and Globe, children work towards a Parent Share each term, where they present a piece in groups based on what the theme they have been exploring in workshops.

Our older groups, Mayflower and Phoenix, often have guest facilitators popping by to cover things such as physical theatre, stage combat and more.

The workshops are a fantastic way to build confidence, develop skills and make friends.

All of our youth theatre groups are run by DBS checked adults.

Bring stories to life with our new Storytellers group! Act out well-known tales, or bring in your own stories and tell them together as a group. As an introduction to acting, with the help of your favourite book characters, Storytellers lets your imagination take charge.

On Monday nights for school years 1-3 (ages 5-7).

We’re thrilled to give young people the opportunity to perform on Trinity Theatre’s stage or to take part in performances at drama festivals. Perform is available by audition for school years 8 and above. Members do not need to attend other Trinity Youth Theatre groups to take part.

Our most recent Perform project, Alice by Laura Wade, was a huge success, with excellent feedback from audience members!

We are also entering the National Theatre Connections festival with When They Go Low. Home performances, at Trinity Theatre, will be taking place in March.

Our recent Create project, Make a Movie, has finished filming and is now being edited. Keep an eye out for the results on our YouTube channel!

TYT Backstage

We have a brand-new group for anyone interested in lighting, sound, stage management, theatre design or all of the above! Led by our theatre’s technicians, fortnightly sessions will cover everything that goes on behind the scenes in a professional, working theatre.
