Full Description

Take part, behind the scenes!

Trinity Backstage Youth Theatre is an excellent opportunity for you to get involved in the creative process that goes into bringing a show from concept to stage. Our Backstage members learn, with the guidance of industry professionals, about the different elements that happen behind the scenes in the theatre.

Recommended for school years 8 and above.

Members will get an opportunity to take part in workshops on:

  • Set design
  • Make-up artistry
  • Lighting design
  • Sound design
  • Costumes
  • Stage management
  • Props
  • Scenic arts

The annual membership costs £150 which covers you for workshops throughout the year and includes benefits such as Backstage Youth Theatre hoodie, discounts for Youth Theatre events and selective complimentary tickets.

Additionally, members who show a particular aptitude for a module will then be invited to work with the industry professionals on this year’s Trinity Youth Theatre shows in 2019/20, including Sweeney Todd School Edition, Alice in Wonderland Jr, High School Musical 2 and Peter Pan!

Due to such high demand and success rate last year we have now implemented an application process. To be considered you must complete a short application form.

Bursaries are available via The Elliott Foundation for those who might need financial assistance. Please contact the Youth and Learning team for more information.

If you have any questions, please contact Jason and Juliette in the Youth and Learning team via education@trinitytheatre.net or on 01892 500673.

Please note: each module has limited spaces, though everyone will be guaranteed places on two sets of workshops. Those who have shown progress, enthusiasm and real commitment will be invited to take part in the final shows at the discretion of the course facilitators.
