What’s This All About Then?

Last year, we staged Disney’s Frozen Jr. We had so much fun and so many people interested in getting involved that we want to do it all over again! We will be rehearsing from the end of April to the end of May, before we perform the roughly 60-minute show at Trinity Theatre and the beautiful Hever Castle in the May Half Term!

Young people take on all the roles – from School Years 5-13, and our Backstage Youth Theatre help run the show from the wings and the tech box.

We will learn all of the magical musical numbers and put together some brilliant dance numbers, and rehearse the rest of the show so we can perform it for audiences.

Unlike our Summer shows, not everyone will get cast. We will be running a low-pressure audition to allocate parts on Tuesday 23 April (don’t worry if you can’t make it, there are video options available, too). It is an ensemble-heavy show, so there is lots for everyone to do.

It is free to audition.

All cast members get a show t-shirt and digital copies of the show photos.

We provide the costumes, make-up, props and set, making the show look at brilliant as possible. Our young cast rehearse, perform, have fun, make friends and create memories that will last for years!

It costs £260 to take part in the show – this covers the costs of our creative team, rehearsal space, sets, props, costumes, performance licences, cost of performing at Hever and more!

We know times are currently financial tough for some families, and don’t want anybody who wants to come to be put off by the price. We have bursaries available via The Elliott Fund for those who need financial support.

Auditions

Unlike our Summer shows, not everyone who signs up will get cast. To register for the audition, please complete the form below.

There will be a little bit of audition material to prepare, which will be sent in advance. It will be a bit of singing and a bit of acting. Auditionees will also need to prepare a dance which will be taught on the day.

If you cannot make the audition date of Tuesday 23 April, you can upload a video audition (copies of what to prepare will be sent to those who sign up).

To register, fill out the rehearsal availability form.

What’s the Schedule?

  • Audition: Tuesday 23 April, 4.30pm – 8.30pm – there will be different slots available (or a video audition deadline of 5pm, Sunday 21 April)
  • Rehearsals: Rehearsals on Wednesdays (mostly 5pm – 7.30pm) and Sundays (mostly 10am – 3pm)
  • Performances: Tuesday 28 May (Trinity) and Wednesday 29 May (Hever Castle)

What’s Disney’s Frozen Jr About?

Based on the 2018 Broadway and West End musical, Frozen Jr brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway and West End production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humour, Frozen Jr is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

“They all did so well, my child loved it and he has already asked to book for next year!
Thank you everyone for making it so fun for them all!”
