Full Description

Recently retired I moved to Tunbridge Wells in April 2022. I started painting as a child, watching my aunt painting a rose-bud every Sunday. Later on I studied Fine Art at Nottingham University, and then became a student at the Royal College of Art. I began my career teaching art in Adult Education. My first exhibition was in 1992 at St. George Church, Bloomsbury. Now at the age of 75 this is my second exhibition after a gap of 30 years! Flowers, especially roses, are symbols of love and hope in our troubled times. Painting a flower can ease the mind of anxiety and stress,

Just looking at the shapes and shadows of petals can bring peace, where words fail to comfort. Contemplating a flower brings us closer to the Creator of the universe.
