NT Connections Festival: Your Name is Dead

Details

  • Category: Theatre

Full Description

Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival, running for 29 years. Each year, schools and youth theatres across the country perform a new piece of writing developed for the programme at their home venues before visiting a festival theatre. Trinity is proud to host 13 young companies this year as part of its festival programme.

Each ticket gives you access to an evening of two one act plays, with a short interval in between.

For all of our Connections 2024 performances, we are offering an option to buy tickets at a reduced price, full price or, if you are able to, a slightly higher price that helps subsidise those who cannot afford the to pay the higher prices.

Trinity Youth Theatre presents
Your Name is Dead by Elgan Rhys

M has got a new name: Another piece in the jigsaw that is his life. We follow him over a day, as he navigates shifting relationships and the challenges and joys of being young and trans. Does the jigsaw ever get completed?

Elgan Rhys is a writer and collaborator working in theatre, TV and literature. His work advocates for the empowerment of young people, everyone in the LGBTQ+ umbrella and Welsh-speaking communities. Elgan has been an Associate Artist for two leading Welsh children’s and young people’s theatre companies, Frân Wen and Theatr Iolo, and produced Y Pump, a series of co-created YA novels which won two Wales Book of the Year awards in 2022.
