Show in a Week: Seussical Jr
We visit the Jungle of Nool and the Circus McGurkus in our exciting Show in a Week 2022 for ages 8-14!
Open to everyone and no experience necessary.
Mon 8 – Sat 13 Aug 2022
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favourite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical Jr, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
What is a Show in a Week?
Our Shows in a Week are a fantastic opportunity for children aged 8-14 (as of 31 August 2022) – to rehearse, perform, have fun, make friends and create memories that will last for years. Over the course of a week, we will put together a show – acting, rehearsing songs and learning dance numbers to then perform at Trinity Theatre with costumes, make-up and props to friends and family.
“They all did so well, my child loved it and he has already asked to book for next year! Thank you everyone for making it so fun for them all!”
