Show in a Week: Winnie the Pooh Kids
For ages 5-11
Join us in the Hundred Acre Wood for our exciting Show in a Week for ages 5-11.
A delightful show based on the beloved characters of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film, Winnie the Pooh Kids features your favourite songs from the film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez (Frozen). This honey-filled delight is as sweet as it is fun.
Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course… sharing snacks.
Our Shows in a Week are a fantastic opportunity for children aged 5-11 – to rehearse, perform, have fun, make friends and create memories that will last for years.
To audition, participants will need to sing a song from a similar popular show – selected by us and sent out in advance – and learn a few lines for different characters from the show.
To ensure that we can set an appropriate pace for everyone we will be running rehearsals with two groups – a younger ensemble who will rehearse in the mornings, and an older ensemble and principal characters who will spend the mornings and afternoons with us. A further £65 will be payable for those doing afternoons, which will be based on the auditions, held in the May/June half term.
You need to sign up and pay for mornings in advance, and everyone who signs up will be cast – auditions held in the May/June half term are a fun, low pressure way to determine who gets what part. Video auditions are available to those unable to make the audition dates and for those who don’t want to audition, they will join our fun ensemble cast.
Auditions: To be confirmed, in the May/June half term (can’t make it? Don’t worry – you can video audition!)
Rehearsals: Monday 10 August – Friday 14 August, 9.30am – 12pm for everyone; 12.45pm – 3.30pm for the older cast
Performances: Saturday 15 August
Price includes two tickets to the final performances and a show t-shirt.
No child should be unable to take part because of financial constraints. Bursaries from The Elliott Foundation are available for those on low incomes. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Open to everyone aged 5-11. No experience necessary.
Please note: there are no Youth Theatre discounts available for our Shows in a Week.
